Kingpin almost had a different presentation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A video shared on Twitter reveals that the villain would first appear in the third episode, "Echoes", of the series Hawkeye (2021). (via ScreenRant)

The Kingpin would be introduced during Echo's flashbacks. After a martial arts class, the villain would find the young girl and say, "The bad news is that your father had to work and couldn't pick you up. The good news is that it means I can take you out for ice cream."

However, Marvel Studios changed its plans and kept the character a secret until episode five, "Ronin." In this chapter, the Kingpin appears briefly in a video from Kate Bishop's (Hailee Steinfeld) cell phone.

The character is played by actor Vincent D'Onofrio, a favorite of Marvel fans since he gave life to the villain in the series Daredevil (2015), starring Charlie Cox and available on Netflix.

Hawkeye is part of Phase 4 of the MCU and follows Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) after Avengers: Endgame (2019). To protect his family and pay off debts from the past, the hero needs to stay in New York during the holidays, where he meets young Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a big fan of his, who wants to be trained to become a hero.
