Will we see Jensen Ackles' toy soldier again in The Boys 4? We still don't know. To hear the actor who plays him, the answer is definitely yes. Jensen Ackles would like to return to play the role he got in the third season of the television series produced by Prime Video. He revealed it himself with an Instagram post, in which he shared a short character video of him on the set of the third season of The Boys, accompanying it with a caption whose meaning is evident:

“I love these videos. Can't wait to wear the costume again. This is my Christmas wish." For their part, fans, and even critics, would welcome the return of Jensen Ackles in The Boys Season 4, having appreciated his interpretation of the Toy Soldier. We'll see if his wish will come true.

The Boys 4, everything we know about the new season of the Prime Video series

At the moment there is not much news on the fourth season of The Boys. We know that filming has already begun for a few months and therefore should already be well underway, so much so that a possible release on Prime Video is hypothesized as early as autumn 2023.

We also know that in The Boys 4 there will be some new entries in the cast and a long-awaited return. The new entries are Rosemarie DeWitt, who will play the mother of Hughie (Jack Quaid), Rob Benedict, and Elliot Knight, the latter two in roles yet to be defined.

The expected return is instead that of Simon Pegg in the role of Hugh Campbell Sr. (Hughegie's father), who had already appeared in the first season and who we hadn't seen since. Curiously, Rob Benedict has a particular relationship with the creator of the series Eric Kripke: he too comes from Supernatural (designed by Kripke) and therefore adds to an already large company of actors who have passed from one series to another.

In addition to Benedict, Jensen Ackles himself and Jim Beaver should not be forgotten. Designed by Eric Kripke, The Boys draws inspiration from the comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson who reinvents the superhero theme by giving it a negative meaning.

In this dystopia, the world is dominated by superheroes who, despite professing themselves as heroes, are the real villains of the story. The task of eliminating them falls to a group of unscrupulous mercenaries who have no problem using even more questionable means to get the better of them.
